World Cup Pool - what team have you drawn?

Thorney Colts welcome players of all abilities from around the Peterborough area who simply want to play football in a fun and friendly environment.

For the 2010 - 2011 season, we will be entering teams in under 8s, under 9s, under 10s, under 11s and under 15s - as well as holding development training for five, six and seven year olds.

Grow the Game Grant
We have been awarded a £5000 Grow the Game grant from the Football Foundation. Payable over three years, the grant pays for facilities and referees for our new teams next year (u8s and u10s) - and also provides funding for coaching courses and to hire external coaching sessions.

Thorney Colts won the Chairman's Award for the Peterborough & District Youth League for "the manner in which they conducted the affairs of the League". This meant good communications with League officials; good administration and no fines!

Well done to the under 9s for winning the David Beckham Fair Play award at the Butlins tournament in Skegness. In their first outing wearing the orange & black of Thorney, they not only finished the weekend unbeaten but also had their fair play award presented by formal Arsenal great Ray Parlo

Well done to the under 10s for finishing runners up in their division this season. Despite losing the deciding match against Yaxley, everybody is proud of the way that the team has grown and developed over the last three years - and we look forward to making the transition to 11 a side!

GrassRoots Grants

We've been successful in our application for funding through the Grassroots Grants programme. £1000 has been received to purchase uniforms for the new teams to join us for next season.
