About Us
Thorney Colts FC play in the Peterborough & District Junior Alliance and also in the Peterborough & District Youth League. We are affiliated to Cambridgeshire Football Association.
As a Club, we focus on the positive aspects of participating in organised sport; we encourage teamwork, sportsmanship and fair play and actively discourage a 'win at all costs' mentality - both among players and supporters.
Thorney Colts reformed in 2002 with one age group and have steadily developed ever since, providing organised football for some 60 children across five age groups.
Thorney is a small, rural community some 7 miles to the east of Peterborough, and our intention is to keep the football club equally small and focused.
That being said, we would like to continue to develop by attracting children at the five, six and seven year old age range to provide Development training sessions with a view that they will continue to join the League as that year's under 8s.
In this way, our aim is to provide youth football for children in all the youth football age ranges - and when the children get old enough to move up to Thorney Mens' FC.
We would also like to provide women's football and also football for the less abled. Our efforts to secure improved facilities are very much with these groups in mind.
